Q1.
My new Studioworks monitor isn't listed in the Monitor download driver section.
- You can download the driver for your monitor from our website, but you can also use the standard plug-and-play driver listed under standard monitor types. All of the Studioworks monitors use the plug-and-play driver.

Q2.
Can you confirm that this monitor is Y2000 compliant?
- Our products satisfy the BSI(British Standards Institution) Y2K conformity definitions listed below. Our position regarding the rules are preceded by the arrow marks below each rule:
Rule 1 : No value for current date will cause any interruption in the operation.
→ There are no current dates in our products. We only have the date of manufacture in the EDID data and it will not be changed once saved.
Rule 2 : Date-based functionality must behave consistently for dates prior to, during, and after the year 2000.
→ Our products do not have any date-based functions.
Rule 3 : In all interfaces and data storage, the century in any date must be specified either explicitly or by unambiguous algorithms or inferencing rules.
→ In EDID data, the year is expressed by 1 byte hex code according to the VESA standard and it does not have Y2K problems. The VESA standard defines the year in EDID data: value stored = year of manufacture - 1990.
Ex)
09 = 1999 - 1990
0A = 2000 - 1990
FF = 2245 - 1990
Rule 4: Year 2000 must be recognized as a leap year.
→ It is not applicable to our products because there are no dates in our products but the year or the year and week.

Q3.
What are MPRII and TCO95?
- LG Monitor's philosophy has always been to comply with the strictest ergonomic and ecological standards, and we were the first monitor manufacturer to develop and market a full range of high-end display monitors that adhere to MPR II and TCO 1992.
At present, we are striving for TCO `95. All the CRT monitors on the market today release alternating electric and magnetic fields that are classified as non-ionizing radiation (not to be confused with ionizing radiation that are X-rays and radioactive).
MPR refers to the guidelines established by the Swedish Agency for Administrative Development (Statskantret), giving recommended acceptable emission values for magnetic/electric radiation and static electricity.
MPR I was established in 1987 as a voluntary guideline. LG Monitor was among the first manufacturers of displays to meet or exceed its recommended emission limits.
MPR II was established in 1990 and is an even stricter standard than its predecessor.
The TCO standard was first established in 1989. The Swedish acronym TCO refers to the Swedish Confederation of Professional Employees. This confederation has established the strictest standards for computer display AEF and AMF emission levels in the world.
The TCO 1992 standard also includes power saving and compliance with European fire and electrical safety requirements.
TCO ‘95 goes even further by incorporating recycling requirements as well as ensuring that the manufacturing process did not use harmful substances.

Q4.
What is the best setting for my monitor?
- LG monitors are Multi-Sync monitors. There is no one exact frequency required for any resolution. In general, we strongly recommend using VESA timings, because we know our monitors operate properly in that mode.
However, if you cannot follow the VESA timings, all our monitors will operate within a wide range. For more information, please check the specifications paragraph of the user's manual for the recommended resolution. A common misconception is that there are LG monitor drivers for video cards. This is little more than just a list of scan frequencies and resolutions (an *.inf information file).
* If possible, use a NON-interlaced selection.
* If possible, use an 80Hz (or higher) high refresh rate.
* If your card does not offer this range, 70Hz will work, but do not use a lower refresh rate as you might encounter some flicker.
* High refresh rates of 90Hz (non-interlaced) or higher may be used as long as the monitor supports those rates.
* There is no need to change sync polarity. Any combination will work correctly.
* You cannot damage the monitor with an incorrect video card set up. Feel free to experiment.
* Even if the card allows you to adjust the size of the image using controls on the video card, always use the monitor's controls to adjust the image size.
* The best way to see if the monitor will work with a given resolution and rate is to compare the horizontal and vertical frequencies of the video card to the monitor's range.
* If the frequencies are within the correct range, the monitor should operate.

Q5.
How to set the refresh rate/frequency timing.
- Please follow the steps.
(Note: Some steps may differ slightly depending on OS)
1. In your Windows desktop, click Start.
2. Choose Setting.
3. Choose Control Panel.
4. Click the Display icon.
5. In the Display control panel dialog, click the Setting tab.
6. Click Advanced Properties.
7. Click the Adapter tab.
8. Select a refresh rate in the list. It is usually correct to select the highest rate available.
9. Click OK to exit the Advanced Properties dialog.
10.Click OK to exit the Display control panel dialog.
